Meet Our Team

Dr. Bostrom

Medical Director/Veterinarian

I graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. I am very experienced with dogs, cats and reptiles. I am currently the Medical Director here at Wilsons Veterinary Hospital and have worked as an associate veterinarian and a relief veterinarian at humane societies and at emergency clinics. I realize that our pets are really like family members and that pet parents will do anything that they can to provide the best care for their pets. My father is a veterinarian and I have been working with animals my entire life and know, very well, the special bond that is created with your pets.

My wife , 2 kids , 4 dogs, 1 cat, 3 snakes, and 3 turtles (yes, a very busy household!) moved here from Florida. In my free time I love to hike, go birding, fishing and  go to the movies.

I look forward to being able to help you and your pets in the near future .

Dr. Nelson

Veterinarian

Dr. Nelson attended Utah State University where she received her Bachelor's in Animal, Dairy, and Veterinary Science. In May of 2019, she graduated from the WIMU Regional Program in Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University. Her interests include public health, small animal preventative medicine and nutrition, surgery, and small ruminants. Dr. Nelson and her partner have a full house with three cats and two dogs that keep them busy and entertained. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, baking, reading, painting, crafts, and going on adventures. Dr. Nelson is a huge sports fan, and loves watching and keeping up on her favorite teams.

Shanna

Practice Manager

Shanna has a passion for animals of all kinds, along with medical science.  She has known, since childhood, that no other career field would do.  She started working/volunteering in the veterinary field in 2005 while attending school to become a Certified Veterinary Technician.  Her experience covers many different areas including general practice, emergency, exotics, large animal, boarding, and daycare.   She has a special interest in animal behavior and has dabbled in training and aggression.  Shanna joined the Wilson team in 2021 as Lead Veterinary Technician and when the opportunity arose, she became Practice Manager.  She loves the challenge!  In her spare time, she’s usually found on a sprots field or in a park with her boys; two human and two dogs.

Maddie

Lead Veterinary Technician

Hi I’m Maddie! I started working as a vet tech at Wilson Veterinary Hospital in 2021. Before that I worked at the Humane Society of Utah for 1 year. One of my favorite things about being a vet tech is providing exceptional care to patients and being a helpful resource to clients. At home I take care of my 2 happy pups and 2 kitties!

Taylor

Veterinary Technician

I have always had a strong desire to be a medical caregiver in some way. I even went to school for Medical Laboratory Sciences and started my medical career in human medicine at the U of U Hospital before meeting my husband who is a veterinarian. Shortly after we got married I switched to veterinary medicine and have been completely in love with this field ever since. Working hands on with pets and their owners is the most rewarding part of my job, and I absolutely love what I do!

Nic

Veterinary Technician

I have been a Veterinary Technician in the Salt Lake area for 18 years, I have been at Wilson Veterinary Hospital since May of 2022. I graduated from Bingham High School and then attended Salt Lake Community College and am currently studying for my Veterinary Technician Licensing Certification. I have always found veterinary medicine very interesting, I love animals and enjoy advocating for preventative medicine and helping the doctors make them well again. I have had several pets throughout my life but currently I have a Blue Merle Australian Shepard named Duke and an Orange Tabby named Twinkie whom I love very much. I enjoy traveling as well as being an avid fly fisherman, spending time in the outdoors and taking Duke for long walks after work.
